The pony express operated between Missouri and California from 1860 to1861. Relay of riders galloped the 3000km in about 10 days carrying the mail. Two days after the first telegraph line was completed the pony express ceased.

Earliest messages were torches, bonfires and smoke signals. But these were in adequate for longer messages letter services have existed for centuries. But they were slow. News of the victory at the battle of Waterloo in 1815 first reached London in hours by pigeon post. 

Karbala Gets its Second snowfalls in 100 Years.

Karbala is a city in central Iraq , located about 100 km , Southwest of Baghdad , and a few Dozen miles east of lake. Karbala is the capital of Karbala Governorate & has an Estimated population of 700,000 people. Snowfall may continue until wednesday given the very cold weather, said Amer Al- Jaberi to media he is the head of the Iraqi Meteorological center. Snowfall is more common in northern Iraq where snow covered the war battered city of Mosul, but in the center and south there is rarely enough precipitation . Iraq has been hit by a succession of extreme weather events in recent years.

Leonor De Castillla knowns as Eleanor of castile . She was born in 1241 in Burgos ,Castile in spain and died in 1290 at Harby Nottinghamshire. Leonor De Castille was Spanish , daughter of Eleanor was the daughter of King Ferdinand III of Castile and his wife, Joan of Ponthieu..In 1254 Eleanor was married to Lord Edward , In honour of the event, her half brother, Alfonso X of Castile, transferred to Edward his claims to Gascony. When Henry III’s baronial opponents seized power in England in 1264, Eleanor was sent for safety to France; she returned in October 1265, after Edward had crushed the rebels, her devotion to Edward helped bring out his better qualities; after her death, his rule became somewhat arbitrary. Salahuddin Ayyubi

Sultan  Salahuddin Ayyubi  was born in the year  1137  and died in  4 March 1193  . His family was of Kurdish background and ancestry. His father named Najm ad-Din Ayyub, was banished from Tikrit and in 1139, he and his brother Asad al-Din Shirkuh, moved to Mosul. He later joined the service of Imad ad-Din Zangi who made him commander of his fortress in Baalbek. After the death of Zangi in 1146, his son, Nur ad-Din, became the regent of Aleppo and the leader of the Zengids. Sultan Salahuddin Ayyubi, the hero of hundreds of battles, and was the person ,who for twenty years braved the storm of the Crusaders and ultimately pushed back the combined forces of Europe which had come to swarm the Holy Land.
