Library



Library came from Latin word liber which means Books and library is the old French word. In Greek and Roman language , the word is bibliotheca library is a place where group of collections of books and or other print or non-print materials organized and maintained for use like books,  journals, flims, archives, DVD, DC, research material, thesis, newspaper of different language and years e.c.t . It's a collection of sources of information and knowledge.
Different places has different types library according to there need and according there types of libraries. Children library, Public library,  Special library and Digital library which is easier to gain information from anywhere.
EARLY LIBRARIES
Early libraries consisted of archives materials (writing material of that time)  such as Clay tables,  cuneiform , script,  papyrus,  vellum e.c.t . Those libraries are unique and archives for today ,which came from the legendary and great people who not only work for it but also promoted its system.
1.Alexandria the great .
Alexandria the great library was in Egypt and one of the largest library of ancient world.  This library has it's own history which made this library more great. This library was builded for research institution called Mouseion and it's dedicated to the Muses,  the nine goddness of the art this library has papyrus Rolls and 40,000 to 400,000 scrolls  and 100,000 books. Alexandria library was national library of Egypt.
2. The imperial library of Constantinople
The imperial library of Constantinople was in the capital city of Byzantine Empire, it's perseved the knowledge of the Time. This library faces the damages in wartimes including the raids of fourth Crusade in 1204 . The building contents were allegedly destroyed by Franks and Venetians.
The majority of Greek Classics know today are known through Byzantine copies, the Imperial library of Constantinople have reading material from papyrus to parchment and contained of library estimated 100,000 volume of ancient text. The library burned in the year 473 and about 120,000 00 volume were losted
3.The Royal library of Ashurbanipal .
This library was named after Ashurbanipal he was the last king of Assyrain which is in Nineveh the capital of Assyria and he was one of the great kings,  the collection of this library was about thousand of Clay Tables and all kinds of contained all the kinds of fragments texts from 7th century B. C, they have 30,000 cuneiform tables .
Most of Clay tables of this library were taken to England they are save and part of British library but , Ashurbanipal library is an Archaeological discovered and discovered made in 1849. Ashurbanipal recongnized by his intelligence and intellectual behavior and he was literate and passionate collector of text, tablets, scripts. He was master of both languages Akkadian and Sumerian and sented scribes,  every region of Neo-Assyrain Empire to collect ancient text from them. Ashurbanipal hired scholars and scribes to copy the text and others resources from Babylonian and other regions to develop his library and save them . He also has cataloguing system and this library consisted on writing board not on Clay tables
4. Achaemenid Empire .
Achaemenid Empire was the first Persian Empire at 550-330 B.C they have outstanding libraries in their kingdom and they have two major function. First function was they keep and arrange their records of administrative documents,  transaction,  governmental orders , budgeting e.c.t in good way and Secondly they collect precious resources on different subject of science including history
There are many different libraries and library system were introduce by different great kings and leaders of ancient world . Library is important part of Ancient,  Stone ,  Modern , Nuclear,  Digital world.
Library, traditionally,  collection of books used for reading or study or the building or room in which such a collection is kept.
